Why Battlefront Grannies
Even though their home is in the frontline area, they want to live. They bravely endure shelling and food shortages. But then there’s winter, the toughest time of the year. The forests are full of mines; there’s nowhere to go for firewood. Yet they still go out and gather at least twigs and straw, because giving up is not in their nature. Their strength inspires us and gives us the desire to help them.
With your donations, we provide fuel and deliver it right to their homes. On top of that, we add a bit of love – a hug or a chat over tea to warm not only the homes but also the hearts of our heroines.

Michal comes from Czechia,
the team is all Ukrainian
An electrician from the Czech Republic set out in 2014 to assist civilians drawn into the emerging conflict in eastern Ukraine. He repaired a bullet-riddled orphanage, then ventured to the front lines and experienced adventures akin to those found in novels. He shared his experiences on Facebook and through a series of lectures back home in Brno. People wanted to contribute! And so, in 2015, a non-profit organization was established, along with dozens of projects, among which the greatest passion project emerged – providing warmth to frontline Grandmothers. Over the years of work in the conflict zone, we fine-tuned assistance to achieve the best price/performance ratio. Everything is now coordinated from the Czech Republic, and a team of locals continues to provide direct aid on the front lines.
